Dr Ashish Agrawal is a well-known name in the field of Cardiology. He is an interventional cardiologist by profession with over 14 years of experience in this field. He is the owner of ‘THE HEART CLINIC’ which is located at Mulund & Bhandup in Mumbai. He plays an active role in all academic meetings. He has achieved a gold medal in the post-doctoral DM Cardiology course from the prestigious Institute of KEM Hospital and Seth G.S. Medical College, Mumbai.

Interventional Cardiology Experience:-

Angioplasty Procedure-

I am fully trained in coronary angioplasty and have now been first operator in over 600 PCIs.

I am conversant with both radial and femoral route for PTCA procedures. Presently I am doing more than 95% of my procedures using radial route.

I got my experience in Primary, rescue and pharmacoinvasive angioplasty procedures through radial route at Baroda Heart Institute and Research Center, Vadodara, where I worked as a primary operator for over 350 cath lab days involving over 300 primary and 200 elective angioplasty procedures. Have got a fair amount of exposure in thrombosuction devices, Renal angioplasties, graft angiographies, graft angioplasties, post-stent thrombosis PTCA and CTO.

Cardiac Pacing & Device Therapy-

I have obtained permanent pacemaker implantation training at K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai. I have implanted over 100 permanent pacemakers as a primary operator which includes VVIR, VDD and DDDR pacemakers. I have done almost an equal number of pulse generator exchange procedures.

I attended a weekly arrhythmia clinic as a registrar for 3 years and as an assistant professor for one year.

Balloon Mitral Valvulotomy-

I have obtained my training in BMV procedures at K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai.

I have done over 100 BMV procedures as a primary operator which includes emergency procedures and paediatric BMVs.

Pediatric Interventions-

I am well-versed in paediatric interventional procedures including PDA device closure, ASD device closures, Balloon pulmonary valvuloplasties, Balloon aortic valvuloplasties, Diagnostic catheterizations and oximetry runs.

I have assisted ASD device closures, balloon atrial septostomies, neonatal balloon pulmonary valvulotomies, coarctoplasties as a second operator.

I have played a role as a transoesophageal and transthoracic echocardiographer in more than 100 ASD device closure procedures till date.

Cardiac Catheterisation Diagnostic-

I have performed over 5000 Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterisations as first operator and am experienced in operating from the femoral and radial approaches. I have worked as a trainer for junior specialist registrars in both diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Transthoracic Echocardiography-

I have performed over 10,000 two-dimensional and Doppler echocardiograms to date. I have worked as a senior echocardiographer and trainer for registrars during DM cardiology tenure.

Transesophageal Echocardiography-

I have been performing transoesophageal studies for over 4 years and have been the first operator and principal reporter in over 800 studies, as well as being present during many more procedures. I have supervised the TOE Services as a faculty and have trained the junior registrars for the procedure.

Clinical Cardiology-

As a registrar in cardiology in a premium institute like K.E.M. Hospital, I have been extensively exposed to a huge number of Cardiology OPD patients. It included three times a week General OPD as well as weekly Pediatric cardiology OPDs and Arrhythmia Clinics.

My duties also involved daily ICU duties every three weeks for one year and then ICCU daily rounds as a supervisor.
